The work
Flagger work in this region
Flagging is traffic control on road, utility and plant projects, and it is a genuine trade rather than a fill-in job — you are responsible for the safety of the crew behind you and everyone driving past. The CSRA carries steady demand from road and utility work across both states, and plant projects need internal traffic control too. It is also one of the more accessible ways into industrial work for someone starting out.
What the assignments look like
- Traffic control on road and highway projects
- Utility and pipeline work zones
- Internal traffic control on plant and construction sites
- Work zone setup, signage and cone placement
Site conditions
Outdoors in whatever the weather is doing, standing for extended periods, close to live traffic. Early starts are normal. High-visibility clothing is mandatory everywhere and provided or specified by the site.
